Why we need each other
Travel between European countries is increasing at a exponential rate. This is due to certain changes in recent years including the expansion of the EU and the advent of low-cost short haul fights.
The rise of the Internet has also meant that travellers are more likely to book their trips themselves rather than go through the traditional route of package holidays. Travellers are increasingly spending their stag nights, family holidays and gap years in foreign countries. Where the package holiday companies previously organised all aspects of these holidays, the do-it-yourself traveller now does it all (including the accommodation).
This rise of this travel has created an increasing need for short-term rental accommodation. The rise in travel has seen hotels face an increased demand for their services. As such they are able to continue charging high prices. The drop in the cost of going to a foreign country has, paradoxically, helped the continuation of high prices within the hotel industry. As a result of this, travellers are increasingly requesting services like ours which connect those looking for short-term property rentals to property owners looking to make additional revenue by letting out their vacant apartments.
